British sportscar maker Lotus is officially entering India today with its debut model, the electric Eletre SUV. Lotus Eletre price in India starts at 2.55 crore, the Lotus Eletre is currently the most powerful and expensive electric SUV in India.

It’s also the first model to have begun Lotus changing into an electric-only car manufacturer.

The renowned British manufacturer of sports cars with high-performance Lotus Cars announced that they will be entering the Indian automobile market.

In the official introduction of the brand into India, Lotus unveiled the pricing and specifications of one of its most sought-after versions: Eletre R, an electric Hyper-SUV. Lotus has set the price of the basic model for Eletre R at Rs 2.55 crore in India.

Lotus Eletre: Range and Powertrains

The car is expected to be released with three distinct variants, which include Eletre S, Eletre S, and Eletre R which will come with the option of two engines. Eletre along with Eletre S features the 450 603 hp / kW single-speed model, which has a maximum distance of 600 kilometers (373 miles).

Its Eletre R comes with the top-of-the-line 675 kW/905 HP dual-speed model with a maximum range of 490 kilometers (304 miles). The torque figures are 710 and 985 Nm and 985 Nm respectively, which gives the speed of 0-62 miles per hour (0-100 kilometers/hour) performance of 4.5 to 2.95 seconds.

The 112 kWh battery that comes with both versions comes with a charging time (10%-80 percent) of only 20 minutes when using a speedy charger. The standard specifications for the Eletre R comes with Lotus Dynamic Handling Pack, Carbon Fibre Pack with gloss black wheels, sporting pedals made of stainless steel, black badges along high-performance tire.
