Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company xAI will unveil the debut AI prototype to a select group on Saturday, the billionaire founder and Tesla CEO announced on Friday.
This announcement comes a few months after the release of OpenAI’s ChatGPT captured the attention of both users and businesses across the globe, triggering an explosion in the acceptance of the generative AI technology.
Musk co-founded OpenAI the company behind ChatGPT in 2015. However, he removed himself from the board in the year 2018.

- Elon Musk said Friday that his AI company, xAI, will debut its tech on Saturday.
- “Tomorrow, xAI will release its first AI to a limited group,” Musk posted on X which was previously known as Twitter. “In certain ways, it’s the best that is currently available.”
- Musk is reportedly placing xAI in competition against companies like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic that are behind chatbots that have a leading presence, such as ChatGPT, Bard, and Claude.
“In many important aspects it (xAI’s brand new system) is the best model that is available,” he posted on his X social media platform.
“As as soon as it’s released of beta testing, the xAI Grok program will soon be accessible to everyone X Premium+ subscribers,” Musk posted.
X previously known as Twitter, has launched the two subscription options in the last week. The first is a $16 a month Premium+ tier that is for those who want to shell out for an advertising-free experience, and a standard price of 3 dollars per month.
The billionaire who has been a vocal critic of Big Tech’s AI initiatives as well as what he refers to as censorship in the past, announced earlier this year the company would create a truth-seeking AI that attempts to comprehend how the universe works in order to surpass Bing and Google’s Bard as well as Microsoft’s Bing AI.
