Citroen Basalt Ground Clearance, Dimensions, Interior Revealed Ahead of Launch

Citroen Basalt Ground Clearance, Interior, Exterior, Dimensions Fully Revealed Officially; Check Expected Price and Launch Date

In an exciting revelation, Citroen has officially unveiled the India-spec Basalt SUV Coupe, generating buzz among automobile enthusiasts. With its imminent launch set for the coming weeks, the Basalt is poised to take on competitors like the Tata Curvv.

One of the standout aspects of the Citroen Basalt is its shared underpinnings with the C3 Aircross. Despite this, the Basalt features a slightly shorter wheelbase of 2,651 mm, 20 mm less than its sibling.

Citroen Basalt ground clearance is 180 mm, a reduction that might influence its handling dynamics. However, it offers a substantial boot capacity of 470 liters, making it a practical choice for those in need of ample storage space.

Design-wise, the Basalt makes a strong statement with its split headlamp design, which includes projector units and V-shaped LED DRLs. The iconic Citroen logo takes center stage on the grille, flanked by a chunky front bumper with a large air dam and integrated fog lamps. The robust, square wheel arches with black cladding house stylish dual-tone alloy wheels, giving the SUV a rugged yet sophisticated look.

The rear of the Basalt is distinctly Citroen, featuring a coupe-like roofline that seamlessly transitions into a short tail section. Large wraparound taillights, a dual-tone rear bumper with a silver skid plate, a black roof, and a shark-fin antenna complete the sleek design.

Inside, the Basalt offers a dual-tone interior that exudes modernity and comfort. The cabin is equipped with a 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. At the heart of its infotainment system is a 10.25-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Additional features include a wireless charger, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and cruise control. Rear seat passengers are treated to dedicated AC vents and contoured headrests, ensuring a comfortable ride.

Under the hood, the Citroen Basalt provides two engine options to cater to different driving preferences. The first option is a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, delivering 80 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The second option is a more powerful 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that generates 109 bhp. This engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a torque converter automatic transmission, offering 190 Nm and 205 Nm of torque, respectively.

Here are the mileage figures for each version of the Citroen Basalt:
