Petrol Pump Strike Assam: Petrol Pumps To Remain Closed From March 30 To April 1

On Thursday, Guwahati 29 March (Assam): The Northeast India Petroleum Dealers’ Association (NEIPDA) declared the petrol pump strike Assam to last for 48 hours.

For the next 48 hours, the oil depots within its jurisdiction are likely to remain shut, increasing customer problems.

In the announcement that the association had an annual meeting at its office in Uzanbazar, Guwahati, wherein it was agreed that the association would use a protest to protest the Closure to No Purchase No Sales’ starting at 5:15 AM on 30/03/2024 through the time of 5:00 AM on the 01/04/2024.

The reason for the decision is non-enhancement or non-revision of the Dealers Commission since 2017. There are also other violations and demands in the right of dealers as stated in the letter for all companies that operate oil however, the costs of operating the RO have risen exponentially and it is now extremely difficult for dealers to carry on the business.
